The municipality of Galați has announced the installation of 19 additional charging stations for electric vehicles, as part of a project funded by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR).

The new stations are located in various areas of the city, including near the Saint Anton Church and in the Micro 18, 19, 20, and 21 neighborhoods, as well as in the area of 'Danubius' University. The project plans to install a total of 159 stations, with completion scheduled for this summer, so that Galați will have a total of 206 functional stations for charging electric vehicles.

Currently, there are 6,201 registered electric and hybrid vehicles in the municipality, of which 1,105 are fully electric. The local administration has also invested in electric public transport, purchasing 42 electric buses and 20 hybrids, which places Galați among the cities with extensive electric mobility.
