Evghenia Gutut, the Gagauz Gagauzia's Bashkan, has been sentenced to 7 years in prison by a court in Chisinau for involvement in the illegal financing of the 'Shor' party, which was declared unconstitutional. The sentence was handed down by the Buiucani Office and can be appealed. Guțul denied any violation of the law, and prosecutors demanded the confiscation of 40 million lei from his account. The trial began in April 2022, and Guțul is accused of directing funds from Russia to the pro-Moscow party.
