Mariana Vâlceanu, a former economic director at Electrica Serv, was remanded in custody for embezzling 4.5 million lei from the company between November 2024 and February 2025. The Public Prosecutor's Office of the Bucharest Tribunal opened an investigation for embezzlement after Vâlceanu allegedly carried out 18 bank transfers, falsifying documents to hide the illegalities. The arrest was ordered for 30 days.
