Forensic doctors from across the country will protest on Thursday for two hours, suspending medico-legal activity, except for emergencies.

Forensic doctors and staff from forensic medicine institutes in Romania will protest on Thursday, June 11, 2026, between 10:00 AM and 12:00 PM, against the "institutional abandonment" and chronic underfunding of the system.

Employee representatives emphasize that without this expertise, criminal investigations stagnate, affecting citizens' rights. They also criticize the provisions of O.U.G. no. 7/2026, which generate discrimination in the funding and salary of forensic staff. Doctors are calling for a real dialogue with the authorities to address these issues and ensure adequate funding.

The protest will take place within the premises of the forensic institutions, ensuring only medical-judicial emergencies are handled.
