Orange flood alert in the counties of Buzău and Prahova due to precipitation and snowmelt.

The National Institute of Hydrology and Water Management (INHGA) has issued an orange flood warning valid from Thursday evening until Friday afternoon, targeting certain river sectors in the counties of Buzău and Prahova.

Additionally, a yellow warning has been established for rivers in the counties of Dâmbovița, Prahova, Ialomița, Buzău, Brăila, and Vrancea, from February 5, 2:00 PM to February 6, 4:00 PM. The warnings are caused by the forecasted precipitation, snowmelt, and the evolution of ice formations, which can generate significant runoff and rapid floods, with risks of local flooding. INHGA recommends that the population avoid traveling near watercourses and protect their belongings in low-lying areas, following the instructions of local authorities.
