A fire broke out in a building in Botoșani, starting from a ground-floor studio, causing the evacuation of 11 people. The owner of the apartment managed to exit on her own, while another ten residents self-evacuated before the firefighters arrived.
The alarm was raised by neighbors, and the intervention teams arrived quickly at the scene, intervening with two fire trucks and a SMURD crew. The fire, most likely caused by a short circuit, affected the belongings in the bedroom, generating large amounts of smoke. The firefighters managed to extinguish the flames and ventilate the space.
This situation highlights the importance of periodic checks of electrical installations, especially in older buildings, and avoiding improvisations. Firefighters recommend the proper use of electrical appliances and replacing defective equipment to prevent accidents. The prompt intervention of neighbors and rescuers prevented the fire from spreading and avoided more serious consequences.
