A 72-year-old man died in a fire caused, most likely, by embers falling from the stove, in his home in Crestur, Bihor.

On Saturday morning, a devastating fire occurred in the home of a 72-year-old man from Crestur, Petreu commune, resulting in his death. The fire was reported around 7:20 AM, when a caller informed the authorities about the flames engulfing the house, mentioning that the owner might be trapped inside.

Three fire crews from the Marghita Detachment and the Săcueni Station responded quickly, using two fire trucks and an SMURD ambulance. Upon their arrival, the fire was widespread, severely affecting the roof and one room, and the crews found the charred body of the victim inside. The fire was extinguished in about 30 minutes, and the firefighters managed to prevent the flames from spreading to other rooms and to a wood shed.
