A 70-year-old man died after being hit by a car on Calea Dorobanți in Bucharest.

A tragic accident occurred on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, on Calea Dorobanți in Bucharest, where a 70-year-old man was hit by a vehicle driven by a 36-year-old driver. The incident took place around 08:20, and the police were alerted via a 112 call.

According to initial information, the driver surprised and hit the pedestrian, who was on the roadway. He was tested with the Alcooltest device, with a result of zero. The victim was urgently transported to the Bucharest Emergency Clinical Hospital, but unfortunately, the doctors were unable to save his life, and he was declared dead at the hospital.

Following the accident, traffic restrictions were imposed on Calea Dorobanți, but traffic was later resumed. The Capital Police continue investigations to determine the exact causes of the accident.
