Florin Barbu, the Minister of Agriculture, announced that the ministry is analyzing a new mechanism that would allow farmers to purchase diesel fuel directly from the pump at a reduced price, between 4 and 4.5 lei/liter, without having to wait for the reimbursement of the excise duty and VAT. This system could include vouchers for farmers, facilitating their access to the fuel necessary for agricultural activities.

Currently, the price of diesel is approximately 8.6 lei/liter. Barbu mentioned that the proposal aims to eliminate VAT at the pump for the 78 liters/hectare, which would have zero impact on the state budget. The minister wishes for the scheme to be approved by the Government in the next 2-3 weeks.
