The APPR Forum asks the Government to suspend the resumption of active anti-hail interventions, citing the lack of independent evaluations and a public impact study.

The Forum of Farmers and Professional Processors in Romania (Forumul APPR) reacted to the synthesis of the Prime Minister's Control Body regarding the Authority for the Administration of the National Hail Suppression System. Farmers do not contest the need to protect crops, but they request the suspension of the automatic resumption of the hail suppression program, which has not demonstrated effectiveness through independent evaluations. They ask the Government and the Ministry of Agriculture not to make decisions regarding new investments until the completion of independent evaluations and the publication of the control conclusions.

The report highlighted structural deficiencies, the lack of environmental impact assessment, and the inefficient use of public funds. Farmers emphasize that the program has only achieved a completion rate of 39% and that no active interventions have been made since 2025. They demand data-driven solutions and transparency, including impact studies and comparative analyses of alternatives. The Forum APPR believes that real protection against hail is essential, but not in the current form of the system.
