Environment Minister Diana Buzoianu said the authorities want to extend the Guaranteed Return Guarantee Scheme (GRS) to packaging such as milk jars and cartons. She stresses the importance of analyzing the impact of extending the scheme to avoid negative effects. The SGR, which offers a 50-money guarantee for the return of packaging, has proved effective in reducing waste and improving Romanians' environmental behavior. Without this system, much packaging would end up in nature, harming the environment.
