The National Health Insurance House (CNAS) will eliminate the monthly cap for reimbursed medical tests, allowing patients to access them throughout the entire month. This change comes after years in which patients were denied due to the exhaustion of the cap. However, obtaining a referral will become more difficult, and appointments will be prioritized based on the severity of the illness. CNAS intends to reorganize the basic package of tests, which includes approximately one hundred tests, and to extend the measure to imaging investigations, such as CT and MRI. The costs for a usual set of tests are approximately 400 lei, while imaging investigations can reach up to 1,200 lei. This reform aims to improve patients' access to essential diagnostics.
