Environment Minister Diana Buzoianu has announced legislative changes to increase fines for those who feed bears on roadsides, highlighting the dangers of this practice. A meeting has been called to coordinate bear management measures on the Transfăgărășan, involving local authorities and specialized NGOs. The Argeș Forestry Department has started procedures to capture and relocate orphaned cubs after a tragic incident in which a motorcyclist was fatally mauled by a bear cub.
