Diana Buzoianu, Minister for the Environment, said that the withholding of €350 million by Apele Române is a crime for local communities vulnerable to flooding. She stressed that in the context of the economic crisis, it is unacceptable to lose these non-reimbursable funds, which could have protected communities. Buzoianu sent the control body to Apele Române to investigate the reasons for not spending this money, while visiting the area of the Poiana Largului viaduct, affected by waste brought by floods.
