Energy suppliers, through the voice of Dana Dărăban, executive director of ACUE, advocate for the removal of the price cap on gas starting April 1, 2026, arguing that a free market will bring benefits. However, they emphasize the need for a 'gas release program' that would provide visibility on the quantities of gas available on the market.

This program would allow suppliers to purchase gas at more competitive prices, reducing the risks of sudden price increases. Dărăban mentions that such a program could be implemented over a short period, of one or two months, and could start from January 1, 2026. Additionally, ACUE is open to other solutions that would ensure price stability in the wholesale market.
