Bogdan Ivan, the Minister of Energy, discussed the issues related to hot water and heating in Bucharest, highlighting that the heating infrastructure has not benefited from significant investments in the last 35 years. He proposed a transition system of 3-4 years, which will include mobile plants to ensure the necessary hot water supply.

Ivan mentioned that ELCEN is operating at maximum capacity and that recent damages have been repaired. He also emphasized that the current situation cannot be quickly remedied, considering the age of the pipes. Additionally, he assured that Romania has sufficient gas stocks to meet consumption, but warned that without additional investments, problems may recur every winter.
