The Minister of Energy, Bogdan Ivan, stated that Romania has sufficient natural gas resources, which provides a guarantee that prices will not increase from April, once the price cap is removed. He mentioned that there are already offers on the market below the capped price and that adequate liquidity has been ensured through collaboration with gas producers and distributors.

Ivan emphasized the importance of Romgaz entering as a supply operator, which will stimulate competition and contribute to lowering final prices. He also mentioned that Romania is prepared to face external challenges, having a plan for a gradual removal of the cap over the course of a year, in the context of the future exploitation of gas from Neptun Deep.
