Large amounts of waste from two slaughterhouses were abandoned in a river in Argeș by a man employed to dispose of the remains without paying the incineration fees. The police conducted searches at the two slaughterhouses and at the homes of three suspects, detaining the main suspect, a 54-year-old man.

The investigation revealed that, alongside animal waste, wastewater from the slaughtering process was illegally discharged into the Argeș River. The Environmental Guard requested the intervention of local authorities to address the pollution issue, and investigators continue to investigate serious irregularities related to waste management.
