The European Consumer Centre in Romania (ECC Romania), part of the National Authority for Consumer Protection (ANPC), announced that it recovered the amount of 173,000 euros for consumers in the first quarter of 2026.

During this period, ECC Romania managed over 2,500 requests from Romanian consumers and approximately 50 from other member states of the European Union, including Norway, Iceland, and the United Kingdom.

The most common complaints were in the field of transportation (26.5%), followed by clothing and footwear (20.9%) and various products (16.7%). Compared to 2025, fluctuations were observed, with a decrease in complaints for air transport and a significant increase for clothing.

ECC Romania contributes to consumer protection at the European level by providing information and support in resolving cross-border disputes.
