The Holy Light will arrive this year in Romania through a "special corridor" opened by the Israeli authorities, in the context of the war in the Middle East, announced the envoy of the Romanian Patriarchate, Ioan Meiu. The transport will take place on Great Saturday, departing from Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv, with preparations being more difficult than in other years due to the security situation.
In Israel, the alert is "at maximum", and the services during Holy Week will take place under special conditions, similar to the pandemic period: only official delegations will have access to the Holy Sepulchre, without believers or pilgrims. Additionally, traditional processions such as those on Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday, or Good Friday will not take place, as they have been canceled this year in Jerusalem.
