The DIICOT prosecutors and the police officers from the Organized Crime Fighting Department in Cluj-Napoca have detained nine people, eight men and one female lawyer, in a case targeting a criminal network that was introducing drugs into prisons and attempting to obtain sentence reductions for convicts. The searches, carried out on December 3, aimed to dismantle the group specialized in drug trafficking, money laundering, and aiding convicts.

As a result of these actions, quantities of drugs, illegal equipment, and sums of money were confiscated. Three of the suspects were already incarcerated for other offenses, and five individuals are wanted for arrest in absentia. The investigation continues, and drug trafficking networks remain a priority for the authorities.
