Dorel Săndesc, the manager of the Timișoara County Hospital, has been definitively sentenced to 1 year and 8 months in prison for manslaughter.

The Timișoara Court of Appeal has definitively rejected the appeals of Dorel Săndesc, the manager of the Timișoara County Hospital, in the involuntary manslaughter case. The incident occurred in 2018, when Săndesc failed to yield and collided with another vehicle, resulting in the injury of a 53-year-old woman, who died nine months after the accident. The Timișoara Court sentenced Săndesc in March to one year and eight months of suspended prison. Following the rejection of the appeal, the sentence became final.

Although Săndesc provided care to the victim until the ambulance arrived, she underwent surgeries, and her injuries were complicated by nosocomial infections. The doctor's lawyers requested an expert examination to determine the exact cause of death.
