The Small Modular Reactor (SMR) project at Doicești is proceeding according to corporate approvals, having recently ordered the start of work on FEED Phase 2, estimated to take 15 months. Nuclearelectrica is working with international partners and complies with IAEA standards. The project aims to advance nuclear technologies in Romania and train a new generation of specialists, and is supported by the Romanian and US governments. Funding is provided without state aid, in compliance with the legislation in force.
