A doctor from Craiova has been detained for human trafficking and drug offenses, being accused of exploiting a vulnerable woman through labor.

A 31-year-old doctor from Craiova has been detained for 24 hours, being investigated for human trafficking and drug trafficking. According to prosecutors, the man allegedly exploited a woman in a vulnerable state, promising her medical treatments but forcing her to perform cleaning services in his homes and other locations.

Additionally, between March 2023 and November 2025, the doctor allegedly possessed and offered risk drugs (alprazolam) to a person undergoing therapeutic treatment. Following searches conducted by the police, alprazolam tablets were found in his residence. Now, the case has been forwarded to the Dolj Tribunal with a proposal for preventive arrest.
