An orthopedic doctor from the Buzău County Emergency Hospital was placed under house arrest after being caught in the act of taking a bribe. He received 500 lei from the grandson of a patient who was to be operated on, the amount representing the second installment of a total of 1,000 lei. Prosecutors organized the capture action on December 17, 2025, after the doctor had received the first installment on December 15. Following the incident, the doctor was detained for 24 hours, and subsequently, the Buzău Tribunal ordered house arrest for 30 days. The hospital management suspended the doctor's employment contract, and investigations continue for the crime of taking bribes in a continuous form.
