In 2024, the National Anticorruption Directorate (DNA) received only four reports from ANAF regarding possible tax frauds with damages of over 10 million lei.

This figure was considered an "unpleasant surprise" by the chief prosecutor of the DNA, Marius Voineag, who expected a much larger number of such reports. Although the DNA does not directly investigate tax evasion, seven cases of large-scale tax evasion have been opened, with damages between 18 and 96 million lei.
