The French authorities announced the dismantling of a network of horse thieves after seven suspects were apprehended in France and Romania. According to prosecutor Cedric Logelin from Besancon, four of the nine stolen horses in May and June were found in Romania, in good condition. The thieves operated in several departments in eastern France, loading the animals into trucks, each horse valued at approximately 5,500 euros. The case has caused outrage among breeders and animal rights advocates, with some victims stating that the loss felt "as if their child had been stolen."
