She emphasized that the initiative does not target minorities, but protects thousands of girls and women in Romania, the majority of whom are victims of these abuses. The project provides for prison sentences between 3 and 7 years for forced marriages, and in severe cases, the penalty can reach up to 10 years. Buzoianu criticized the protesters, questioning why the majority of those contesting the law are adult men and not affected women. She also proposed a public awareness campaign to raise awareness about children's rights.
