Diana Buzoianu, the Minister of Environment, Waters and Forests, expressed skepticism regarding the reform of Romsilva, after Jean Vișan was appointed general director of the institution for a three-year term. Buzoianu emphasized that Vișan had already held a previous term, during which he blocked essential measures for reform. She mentioned that the observations of the Ministry of Environment, sent in time for the competition, were not taken into account by the Board of Administration of Romsilva.
The minister stated that she does not expect Vișan to implement significant reforms and emphasized that many in the system are pleased with the outcome of the competition. Buzoianu asserted that the fight against corruption in Romsilva will be a long battle, but she is determined to closely monitor the illegalities affecting the forests in Romania.
