Presidential adviser Cristian Diaconescu said that it is essential that gas exploration in the Neptun Deep area of the Black Sea starts as soon as possible. He noted that the competition for gas in the East could be intensified by the current military context, which could use the military dimension to block these activities. Diaconescu highlighted the war actions in Romania's exclusive economic zone, especially in the Snakes Island, and underlined the importance of regional stability and security, mentioning the talks to set up a regional security center in the Black Sea.
