The General Directorate of Social Assistance and Child Protection (DGASPC) Gorj marked International Autism Awareness Day on Thursday, with approximately 400 children diagnosed with this disorder being highlighted. Every year, on April 2nd, a better understanding of autism and awareness of the special needs of affected individuals is promoted.

On this occasion, DGASPC organized a series of activities and events for children and the community. The DGASPC headquarters and other social service locations were illuminated in blue, the symbolic color of the day. Activities included building a large puzzle, sports games, and an artistic program titled "Lift Your Heart," supported by beneficiaries and students. Informational brochures about autism were also distributed. At the Recovery Complex for Children with Disabilities, activities were held under the name "Color the World Blue!" aimed at facilitating socialization and developing practical skills for children. Autism, a severe neurobiological disorder, affects communication, relationships, and adaptation to the environment, and DGASPC Gorj continues to support the needs of these children.
