According to the Hospitality Culture Research 2025 study, Romanians in major cities prefer to order food at home or at the office, with delivery reaching 27% of the urban HoReCa market, surpassing table service restaurants (26%). In the last six months, over 80% of Romanians have ordered cooked food, with an average bill of 61 lei/person. In Bucharest, the average delivery order is 61.9 lei, compared to 82.7 lei at a restaurant.

Florin Maxim, founder of the Hospitality Culture Institute, emphasizes the importance of delivery as a growth engine for the industry. In 2026, the institutes will launch two studies to analyze consumer behavior in the current economic context, including the impact of price increases and staff shortages. The Hospitality Culture Institute invites companies in HoReCa to become partners in this endeavor, offering access to exclusive data and strategy workshops.
