Cristian Erbașu, the owner of the company carrying out the consolidation and modernization works of the Unirii Square, stated that delays in invoice payments affect the pace of the works. Although the construction site is progressing according to schedule, there are outstanding payments of approximately 120 million lei for works already completed, out of a total of 150 million lei paid so far.

The works depend on funding from the state budget, and Erbașu emphasized that, depending on the allocated budget, the execution pace could be adjusted. The Mayor of Sector 4, Daniel Băluță, mentioned that the Romanian Government has not made payments for construction, except for the technical project, but hopes that the issue will be resolved soon.
