Registrations of new cars decreased by 28% in July 2026 compared to July 2025, while "electrified" cars reported a decline of 20%, informs the Association of Producers and Importers of Automobiles in Romania (APIA).
"Registrations of new cars are down by 28% compared to July 2025. Electrified cars have a decrease of 20%, achieving a market share of 60%, of which mild-hybrid (MHEV) cars register a decrease of 35%, with a market share of 20.7%, full-hybrid (FHEV) cars register a decrease of 41%, with a market share of 17.6%, plug-in hybrid (PHEV) cars have an increase of 71%, with a market share of 14.6%, and pure electric vehicles (BEV) register an increase of 57%, with a market share of 7%,” announced APIA on Tuesday.
