Darius Vâlcov will be released from prison, according to the decision of the Vrancea Tribunal.

The Vrancea Tribunal decided, on June 3, the conditional release of the former mayor of Slatina, Darius Vâlcov, overturning the previous sentence of the Focșani Court. The decision is final.

Vâlcov, sentenced to 5 years in prison by a ruling of the Bucharest Tribunal, contested the decision to maintain him in detention. The Tribunal accepted his appeal, overturning the contested criminal sentence and ordering conditional release.

The court emphasized that, in the event that Vâlcov commits a new offense, his release could be revoked, and the remainder of the sentence will be served.

The ruling is final and was pronounced in a public hearing. Darius Vâlcov was assisted by a chosen defender, and the judicial costs remain his responsibility.
