Daniel Buda, PNL MEP, stated that the Ombudsman’s attack on the Constitutional Court (CCR) against the administration reform is not a coincidence, but a political blockage. He emphasizes that the Ombudsman, whose mandate has expired, challenges measures aimed at reducing waste and restructuring the state’s bureaucratic apparatus.

Buda accuses PSD of hypocrisy, stating that although they claim to support reforms, in reality, they do everything possible to block them, especially when these threaten the networks of privileges in the administration. His reaction comes after the Ombudsman notified the CCR regarding the recently adopted emergency ordinance, which provides for the reduction of thousands of positions in the administration, citing violations of the Constitution. Buda concludes that Romania cannot progress with a state blocked by the interests of those who fear reform.
