The Social Democratic Party has officially validated Daniel Băluță's candidacy for the General Mayor of the Capital for the elections on December 7, with the mayor of Sector 4 set to also take over the leadership of PSD Bucharest from Gabriela Firea. The decision was adopted unanimously in the party leadership meeting. Gabriela Firea announced that she is stepping down from the branch leadership to support Băluță and avoided a new candidacy, remaining a Member of the European Parliament. Meanwhile, Daniel Băluță's campaign has already begun to take shape online, where dedicated pages promoting him have appeared.
