The High Court of Cassation and Justice has rejected the appeal of Dani Mocanu and his brother: Dănuț remains in prison.

Dani Mocanu will not escape prison after the High Court of Cassation and Justice rejected the appeal filed by him and his brother, Ionuț Nando Mocanu, for attempted murder and disturbing public order. In November 2025, Dani Mocanu was sentenced to 4 years in prison, while his brother received 7 years, after they assaulted a man at a gas station in Pitești in August 2022. The two fled Romania before the sentence was pronounced, and were later located in Italy, from where they were extradited. The incident was captured by surveillance cameras, and the investigations were extended for attempted murder. The court's decision is final, and Mocanu will serve his sentence.
