Damen Shipyards Mangalia is looking for a strategic investor, announcing that it has submitted a reorganization plan to the syndic judge through the judicial administrator Casa de Insolvență Transilvania (CITR).

The proposed plan aims at the transfer of business and the maintenance of the shipyard's activity, including the takeover of employees and the necessary investments. The CEO of CITR, Paul Dieter Cîrlănaru, emphasized that this plan offers a solid chance for employees to keep their jobs and benefit from long-term upgrades. In parallel, discussions are underway to attract new ship repair projects, maintaining current activity until the business transfer is completed. CITR will organize meetings with potential investors, ensuring transparency in the process. The reorganization plan will be put to a vote by creditors on March 25, and will subsequently be analyzed by the syndic judge. Representatives of the giants MSC and Rheinmetall are expected to participate in discussions for the takeover of the shipyard, and the presence of an auditing firm suggests possible advanced negotiations.
