The Minister of Economy, Radu Miruță, stated that the Romanian state intends to support the Damen Shipyard Mangalia SA (Mangalia) through the SAFE mechanism to save it from bankruptcy.

This is considered a strategic and functional shipyard, essential for Romania. In an attempt to make it more attractive to investors, Miruță mentioned that there are discussions about bringing in orders through the SAFE program. The General Assembly of Creditors will decide on November 14 the method of capitalizing on the shipyard, which has been in insolvency since last year. Damen Netherlands has requested the bankruptcy of the shipyard due to unpaid debts, which amount to approximately 160 million euros.
