The Superior Council of Magistracy (CSM) reacted vehemently to political attacks and media campaigns that discredit the judicial system, accusing a hostile attitude towards magistrates. CSM emphasizes that these actions affect the independence of justice, which is essential for a fair trial. The reaction comes in the context of the postponement of the Constitutional Court's decision on a project to amend the special pensions of magistrates, which has generated protests among them. The project provides for an increase in the retirement age and limits the pension to 70% of the last net salary, provoking severe criticism from the judicial system.
