<p>Crin Antonescu said he had been followed by the Securitate but was not a Securitate collaborator, calling for the publication of his 1988 statement to prove it. He explained that he had been called to the Securitate following a friend's attempt to flee Romania, providing only information about their relationship. CNSAS has confirmed that Antonescu was not a Securitate agent, but made a statement in 1988.
