The police opened a criminal case after a 78-year-old man died in an ambulance while being transported from the UPU Târgu Jiu to Hospital 700.

A 78-year-old man died while being transported by ambulance from the Emergency Reception Unit (UPU) of the Târgu Jiu County Hospital to Hospital 700, the incident occurring two weeks ago. The Târgu Jiu Municipal Police was notified by hospital representatives, and upon examination of the body, no visible injuries were found.

The body was sent to the Gorj Legal Medicine Service for autopsy, and in this context, a criminal case was opened for manslaughter. Additionally, the Târgu Jiu County Hospital has established a disciplinary investigation committee to analyze the circumstances of the death, and the Gorj Public Health Directorate has been informed about the case. Investigation procedures are currently underway.
