Chirieac defended Fritz's right to make such decisions, mentioning that he is a Romanian citizen elected by the community, despite the criticisms related to Romanian traditions. Mayor Fritz denied the accusations of direct involvement, stating that the Philharmonic's repertoire is established by the institution and that Gyr's lyrics are not suitable for a Christmas concert in the current context.
