The Romanian Waters announced that the water level in Lake Vidraru has decreased significantly following a controlled discharge exercise that took place at the end of October. This discharge created rare landscapes in the Argeș Valley, transforming the area into a "living picture".
Monitoring teams, consisting of hydrologists and technicians, followed the process to ensure the safety of the riparian communities. The exercise aimed to test the capacity of the Argeș River bed to handle the volumes of water discharged, in view of emptying the Vidraru dam for modernization works that will begin in December. The prefect of Argeș County, Ioana Făcălețea, emphasized the importance of mobilizing the involved institutions to safely carry out the exercise.
