The company Energonuclear SA has signed a contract of approximately 6 million euros, excluding VAT, for the second phase of the construction project of reactors 3 and 4 at Cernavodă, below the initially estimated value of nearly 8 million euros. Teknosec, the leader of the association, aims to obtain an accurate estimate of costs and the implementation schedule.

After this phase, the final investment will be decided to start the actual construction. Teknosec, established in 2024 and controlled by Canadian citizen Verma Rajan Kumar, aligns with the initiatives of the Ministry of Energy to strengthen the local nuclear energy supply chain. The reactors will add over 1,400 MW to Romania's production capacity, covering the annual consumption for 7 million households. The completion of this project will ensure 30% of the national energy requirement and will reduce costs for consumers.
