The Ministry of Finance has announced the continuation of the 'New House' Program for the year 2026, with a guarantee ceiling of 500 million lei, in the context of increased demand for housing and a limited supply. This initiative aims to support individuals who face difficulties in meeting lending conditions. The project emphasizes the stability of the real estate market and the need to maintain favorable financing conditions, including fixed interest rates. Recent analyses show that the city of Cluj-Napoca has recorded the highest mortgage loans, followed by Iași, Bucharest, Constanța, and Timișoara, with average rates decreasing. The 'New House' Program, the successor to 'First House', has granted over 334,000 guarantees to date, facilitating access to housing for a significant number of Romanians. In a context of rising prices and fiscal pressures, the continuation of this program is considered essential for supporting the population's access to property.
