The Constitutional Court has ruled that the Ministry of Education violated the Constitution by excluding students from private and denominational schools from scholarships.

The decision was motivated by the fact that the Education Law promoted by Minister Ligia Deca provided scholarships only to students from state schools, thus discriminating against students from private and denominational education. The case was formed in 2019 at the complaint of a parent whose child had participated in a sports competition.
