The Kazakh-Romanian Energy Investment Fund (FIEKR), through Rompetrol Energy, has completed the reception of works at the cogeneration plant on the Petromidia Năvodari platform, an essential project for modernizing the energy infrastructure in Dobrogea. Starting from December 30, 2025, Rompetrol Energy will exclusively operate the plant, which will ensure a constant flow of energy for the refinery and will be able to direct the surplus into the national grid. The plant, integrated with the refinery and the National Energy System, has already produced 150,000 MWh of electricity and 190,000 tons of technological steam. Final endurance tests have confirmed the optimal functioning of the equipment, and Rompetrol has obtained all the necessary permits. The SGT-750 turbines, which use gas fuel, each generate about 39 MWh of electricity. FIEKR, established in 2018, aims to develop energy projects in Romania.
