CNA has sanctioned Realitatea Plus and Antena Stars for violating audiovisual legislation regarding impartiality and pluralism.

The National Audiovisual Council (CNA) decided on Tuesday to sanction the channels Realitatea Plus and Antena Stars with fines of 50,000 lei and 30,000 lei, respectively, for violating legislation in the field.

Realitatea Plus was fined for news broadcasts on March 24, which did not comply with legal provisions regarding impartiality and balance, having headlines that promoted a certain political viewpoint. Antena Stars received a fine for the editions of the program "Life Without Filter" on March 24 and 25, which did not comply with legal provisions regarding audiovisual content.

The CNA emphasized that these sanctions are necessary to protect the right to a fair trial and the public interest. The sanctioning decisions will be available on the official CNA website after redaction.
